I've done it a few times. You stop sewing 1/4" before the corner and then fold your quilt, right sides together and mark the sewing line on the back of the border that you want to miter.Sew to the 1/4" spot,trim off the excess and press your seam open. It's not really hard at all once you do it a couple of times. If you are still unsure, baste it first to make sure you're sewing on the right angle.
