First flowers of spring have finally arrived!

May is just flying by. I haven't been increasingly busy but the warmer weather makes time go by so fast. That's is what happens when you have 6 month of winter.

I continue to work on my happiness project but this was a week of testing my goals, again. I have found that I was weary of it because, just because. It is hard and every day. And I didn't always suceed in keeping my goals. Just like dieting, exercising, cleaning the house, doing laundry.....the list goes on. You know the things you need to do but don't want to do.

Here are the thing I like to do to balance out life:

I finished piecing my Victory Quilt. I need to add a border. Or two. I love this little quilt. The  little 6 inch blocks were hard to do as they are cut and pieced traditionally. I am finding paper piecing to be so much easier. Now what to do? I have to think about what pattern I want to use for the next quilt. I have several precut sets that I have been saving for just the right moment.

I was digging through my stash and gave away several large pieces of fabric that were not quilting fabrics. I found some fabric I bought at a garage sale when a drapery business closed. I think I will sew new curtains to give the house a new look!

Spring cleaning of the gardens happened today and all that fresh air has made me tired. Tomorrow we will plant the cold season veggies. Lets hope for a better growing season this year!

Stop by http://www.finishedstitches.blogspot.com/ to see the long arm quilts that we have done.

I love all of the blocks in the quilt and how the white background makes it feel so fresh.

I saw your quilt on Judy L's blog and hopped over to get a better look. It is so bright and cheery. Nice job.

You balance the same way I do: quilt therapy :) I love your quilt top. The blocks are sweet.

I love your Victory Quilt! Obviously it was a victory to piece those smaller blocks traditionally. Good for you for sticking with it! Toni

Ah the pull of the lovely, sunny outdoors and the wonderful quilt studio. Most of the time the quilt studio wins in my life! Love your victory quilt. As John said, it does look fresh with that bright white.

The Victory Quilt is beautiful. Those small blocks are chock full! Congrats on getting the top together. I need to make some new curtains too--those 20 year old vertical blinds need to GO.
