Here is a sneak preview of the 6 inch block that is 100 pieces!! It is really turning out to be a cute block.

I finished the Happiness Project book and I recommend it for those wanting to find practical ways to boost hapiness every day. I am working on daily virtues, pursuing a passion and decluttering my house.

Easter Sunday

A lovely time today. Church was moving. Food was good (I made a lasagna and was the best I have ever made) and time spent with family was the best. We took more kilt pics of my husband with all of his accessories. Yesterday we celebrated my DS birthday with a little get together with some friends. Great time and good kids.

I am looking forward to a fresh start to the week- tons of work to do, get back on the diet plan and refocus on my happiness project for the month. And I think the next quilt on the frame will be one of mine.

Good Friday

81 pieces in the little trip around the world

I finished a customer quilt this morning. It was a very detailed quilt and I will post pictures on Finished Stitches later this week. I am surprised how much energy it took to do!

Then I went to Good Friday church service. It is always a very special service. I enjoyed it.

Then I sewed another block. The next block is the 100 piece block. Yes!

Happy Easter!

Here is the kitchen before spring cleaning.

Here is after. Today is the day I declare it done. Walls washed, cupboards are sorted and washed. The hardest rooms are done. I am moving on to the living room and dining room next.

The weekend

Last weekend brought so much happiness. It was a great time! We picked up my husband's kilt. His tartan is the red/green one. I had a scarf made and the blue/green tartan is mine. The kilt is so beautiful, way more than we expected. Linda did a wonderful job!

My husband googled a scottish bakery and is was delicious! The sweets were sampled by all! By the way, they ship. I will be ordering soon. I loved the old world feel of this little bakery.

I had to stop at a quilt shop. I picked up some backing fabric which is the blue. I also picked up the 7th fat quarter in the little owl collection. I have been to this shop several times in the past 6 months and slowly collected fat quarters. I think I have enough to start the quilt.

We did a ton of shopping. I have lost 50 pounds so I bought some clothes. I had to try on several things at many store before I found the 2 pairs of dress pants, 2 tops and a pair of jeans. Little victory, they are all 2 sizes smaller than what I was wearing.

We ate at this resturant at my son's request on the way down. Yummy home style cooking. Note the weather station rules and how to use the rock, funny stuff.

We went to Tio's in Ann Arbor and saw the 5 pound nacho called Mt Nachismo. We didn't order it because it was way too big!! Great place to eat. We saw this on one of our favorite TV shows Man vs. Food.

Adventures, new clothes, eating new places and spending a wonderful time = tons of happy memories

Design Wall

Two more blocks done this week. I am also quilting on the long arm.
It was Spring Break so I did take a couple of days off from work. YES!!

We went to South East Michigan and picked up my husband's kilt and my tartan scarf. We spent a lovely weekend with our son shopping for everything. We ate at some wonderful restaurant's and bakery's. All on the diet of course. I will post more about this with pictures tonight. Stay tuned! Highland games are right around the corner and we will be to several over the summer, cant wait!!

Design Wall

Civil War Diary quilt blocks, down to 28!

This one had 72 pieces and took a long time to do!

ahh, relief an easy block was next.

I have survived the spring
"Thunder snow" over the weekend. It was strange to have it rain, sleet and snow all during a thunderstorm. Hope winter is gone soon, it is beginning to overstay it's welcome.

I continue to read the book on the Happiness Project and find it very interesting and challenging. You can read about my project here.

Spring Break is here, where are you spring? Everyone who went to Florida is getting their money's worth this year!!
