Monday Design Wall

Today I have to make a decision on how to finish my disappearing 4 patch now that the blocks are joined. This is approx. 32x40. It is small but used 3 small sized charm packs. I have to think about it for a few days to decide. Border? What do I have for that? Decisions to ponder.

I am in a finishing mode so I have several projects that need little things like binding, quilting and hand work. I will get back to the Oct Quilt show quilt in the photo, 54-40 or fight. I was upset with all my problems of points and bobbin tension so I put it up for a while. I will also tackle the last row and assemble it this week. I have border fabric and finishing options in my head already. !!

By the way, next week is our local quilt guild monthly meeting. I think I will go. I am a little scared but I am going. They have been doing this a long time. They are the "old guard" of the quilting community. I have wanted to go for a long time. My mom may go with me as she used to go 15 years ago and knows many of the members. We own the longarm business together so I think it is a good thing to do on many levels. Wish me luck!!

good luck with the quilt guild. I joined mine last fall, their last meeting was last week...I didn't make a meeting...haha just too many other irons in the fire. Maybe next year!
I love the layout of your disap. 9-patch and the way the lights and darks move across the top.

Good luck with the guild visit! I'm sure you will love it...and if not, keep looking for a great guild...there are lots of them out there!
Love the Disappearing blocks!

You will have fun at the meeting! Esp with your mom. Love the D4P. Can't wait to see what you choose for the border.

The disappearing 4 patch turned out great. I really like it. Sorry about the tension problems on your other project. I know that is frustrating. Have fun at the quilt guild.

Have fun at the guild! And if they are a bunch of non-interesting types, start your own small group. One large guild in OKC moved to a south meeting spot instead of a more central spot, so multiple small groups popped up, meeting on other nights so there was no official conflict. We met in churches and homes (library is an option) with no rules, no dues and no hassles!

BTW, our library has a display site where they accept samples from community groups, such as quilters, painters, glass workers, etc. They then show their library books that relate to the topic. That's an option to explore and get your business name out to the non-quilting public.

Like the D4P, may need to try one of those with some of my stash!

Your disappearing 9-patch looks different from other settings I've seen--very nice. Hope you find something you like for borders.

I haven't joined a guild either. The meetings just don't work out for my two-job schedule....
