I am on fire!!

...With projects that is. Someone get a bucket of water for me!!! OK, now I am being silly. I guess that is what happens when I am on vacation.
I finished my Mom's tote bag today. I started one for me this afternoon. It has textured contrasting color and some other little modifications to the pattern (out of necessity due to a little fabric shortage). I have to quilt the pieces and assemble. My modifications took a lot of time this afternoon. I want to finish it before I return to work on Monday. So, after making four bags, I think I will not make a bag for a while.

I made this CWDQ block this evening. I am getting more confident and ready to try some of the more complicated patterns. I hope to do several of these blocks a week.

Welcome 2010, I am ready to put 2009 to bed. Looking forward to next year, Happy New Year to all.

Nope, I am not putting out that fire!!! I am enjoying seeing and readng what you are up to - great bags by the way, and I think you are going to make beautiful blks for the CWDQ project - complicated patters are not hard!! You are going to do a great job on them, so pick one and give it a go!!
Love that you are making the blk and reading the story behind it!! Makes the blks more special I think to know where and why they were made.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2010 is going to be a great year!!!

Happy New Year!

The bag and blocks look great. How many of the blocks are you going to make and have you decided on how you are going to set the blocks? Or is it too soon for that?

Take care,

liz

I love my bag!!! Sewing this week was so much fun and very productive. I love Ms. E Burns and her patterns. What a confidence builder. Rock on, oh, I mean sew on... no putting out the fire.

Your welcome Mom for the bag. Liz, I am using the book CWDQ as a guide but not sure if I am going to make all 111 squares. They are set in a traditional sampler setting. I may make less and set them on a diagonal. I have to think about it and some of my quilts just happen as I go. I plan but there is always room to improvise!!
